Navistar, Inc. Entry Level - Mechanical Engineer - NPG in New Carlisle, Indiana

Navistar is currently seeking Entry-level Mechanical Engineers to take our business to the next level! In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and researchers to play a crucial part in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for vehicles that are integral to continuously improve the design and performances across all vehicle models.

This position is based out of our Navistar Proving Grounds in New Carlisle, Indiana

Interviews will begin for this role in early October with projected start dates in January 2024 or June 2024, depending on projected graduation date.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • CAD Model and print creation/release in NX/Teamcenter

  • Creating Component and System Design Requirements Documents (DRDs)

  • Organizing and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for large assemblies

  • Support issue resolution using rigorous statistical and data driven problem-solving practices Design, develop and implement validation tests on full vehicles, vehicle components and vehicle systems

  • In-vehicle testing such as durability events, skid pad, and grades on-and-off-road, hot and cold room testing, shaker lab, electrical testing, materials testing, etc.

  • Participation in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)

  • Completion of Component and System level Design Verification Plan and Reports (DVP&R)

  • On-site and off-site vehicle testing and computerized data acquisition and analysis

Interviews for this position will begin in early October.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

OR

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
