Posting Summary
University Correctional Healthcare, operating within Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director of Operations located in Trenton, NJ. The Director of Operations and Accreditation is responsible for providing operational oversight of the administrative and fiduciary duties necessary to ensure the deliverables of the UCHC's healthcare contracts are consistently met. This includes coordination of accreditation and compliance activities to ensure that staff practices conform to the guidelines established by accreditation bodies and oversight agencies. Oversight of medical records, quality improvement, information technology, compliance and training, and accounts receivable and payable. Represents Chief Operating Officer when necessary.Duties include:
  • Provides operational leadership and support that includes logistical evaluation of administrative and fiscal services that support the delivery comprehensive healthcare services within UCHC.
  • Directs the interface of administrative functions with clinical disciplines, other departments and divisions within the University, NJDOC and subcontracted vendors.
  • Provides effective and efficient overall management and supervision in designated function areas.
  • Contributes to the overall mission of the Department of Corrections and UCHC
  • Provides leadership in the development or revision of policies and procedures and assuring the health care system obtains and remains accredited.
  • Supports goals of University Correctional Health Care and Rutgers Health.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Master's degree in a relevant field required; Seven years of progressively responsible experience overseeing the delivery of health care services.
  • Outstanding human relations and leadership skill, and ability to function in a team environment required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge is necessary of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Valid driver's license is required. Must possess own vehicle.
  • Must be able to obtain Certified Correctional Health Practitioner status through the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare within one year of hire.


Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or MHA preferred.
