Overview
Residence Life consists of 68 full-time staff members, 29 graduate student staff, 302 undergraduate student staff, and 100 student workers which serve a Residence Life program of about 16,000 students. The Senior Program Coordinator Supervisor (Residential Communities) reports to respective Associate Director for Residential Communities and provides support to the campus Residence Life Staff (professional, graduate, and undergraduate student staff that work on the respective campus).
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator Supervisor (Residential Communities) for Rutgers Residence Life.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Provides administrative support to the Residence Life Coordinators, Assistant Residence Life Coordinators, and student staff for the respective campus.
  • Manages the day-to-day operation of the campus office and keeps the Associate Director for Residential Communities informed of the operating status of the office.
  • Handles crisis calls and emergency situations, providing guidance and support to staff, students, parents, and faculty as needed.
  • Manages the respective Residence Life email account, and triaging concerns to respective staff members.
  • Manages campus programming and outreach requests.
  • Supports the daily operations of Residence Life and the fostering of a unique campus culture.
  • Participates in campus based, departmental, and divisional trainings.
  • Supports staff and supervisors in the execution of the residential curriculum, ensuring effective community-building efforts and programming.
  • Supervises the Administrative Assistant to assure all persons arriving at the campus office receive professional, effective and efficient services.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in student affairs administration, higher education, leadership studies or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience working in residence life.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.

  • This is a 12-month, full time, "live-in" position which requires regular evening and weekend hours.
  • Serve in the on-call rotation during which they will be expected to respond to student crisis and emergencies across more than one campus.
  • The "live-in" requirement will be reviewed on a yearly basis and determined by the Executive Director.
