Recovery Specialist (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Middlesex County/ New Brunswick Req #: 0000104673 Category: Behavioral and Mental Health Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Facility: Central Jersey Behavioral Health Department: STAR Middlesex - Grant Location:Central Jersey Behavioral, New Brunswick, New Brunswick, NJ 00000 In collaboration with the individual, the STAR Recovery Specialists will develop a Recovery Plan that includes culturally competent and relevant services and helps identifies goals with measurable objectives, assesses strengths, and monitors the progress made attaining those goals. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Educating the individuals on how to appropriately navigate treatment, social service and recovery support systems; Working collaboratively with the Case Manager to ensure the individual engages in services up to one year; Be a positive role model by sharing experiential knowledge, hope, and skills; and Assisting the individual participating in STAR with gaining skills and resources needed to initiate and maintain recovery.Qualifications:- Must have experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health and wellness.- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency required, Associates degree preferred- Reliable transportation- Bilingual a plus- Previous recovery work preferred but not required- NAADAC Certification or working towards one within 6 months of employment- Computer skills and knowledge with ability to email, navigate Microsoft Word, and other software systems RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
