Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Graduate Assistant within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Directly under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Graduate Assistant will support research focused on improving health outcomes and healthcare delivery for children, adolescents, and their families impacted by pediatric cancer and blood disorders. Current lab projects focus on developing and evaluating family-centered psychosocial interventions, including an online single-session intervention to support adolescent siblings of children with cancer. The Grad Assistant will attend weekly lab meetings and work on various research activities, including collecting data, cleaning transcribed interviews, and coding qualitative data.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Engage in data collection per study protocols.
  • Clean and code qualitative data.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Attend weekly lab meetings.
  • Prepare study materials, including recruitment flyers.
  • Research activities may require flexible (i.e., evening or weekend) activities on occasion per project demands.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Must be a current Rutgers Graduate students who wish to prepare for a career in psychology, public health, biomedical sciences, or affiliated field should apply for the position.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • To be eligible, a student must have a Bachelor's Degree or be a current Rutgers Graduate Student.
  • Must be highly motivated and academically able to pursue a career in biomedical sciences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literature with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
