The position can be based in Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or New Brunswick, NJ and may require up to 10% travel to other US IM R&D locations.

Position Summary:

The Finance Manager will provide financial and strategic leadership to the Innovative Medicine Data Science & Digital Health organization within the R&D function. Key activities for this position include, but are not limited to managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analyzing financial data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization while leading a team of finance professionals. In this role, you would be a key partner to the Data Science & Digital Health Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finance leader to the DSDH Leadership Team members, where candidate demonstrates strategic thinking, strong business partnering, provides financial insights, and challenges assumptions relative to the prioritization and planning of R&D investments.

  • Lead Forecast and Actual cycles for DSDH, including long-range financial planning (LRFP), annual business planning, updates, and actuals reporting. Drive the framing and communication of strategy, forecasts, and financial results to Business and Finance leadership.

  • Collaborate with the DSDH organization to identify, validate and actualize use-cases that demonstrate the financial value that data science applications provide to the R&D function.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor 1-2 finance professionals and create an inclusive environment of professional growth.

  • Ensure the principles of the Data Science Operating Model are followed and evaluate areas for additional enhancements and/or streamlining.

  • Lead & participate in ad hoc strategic projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborate across J&J Innovative Medicine Finance to drive simplification of finance processes.

  • Ensure that the principles and elements of the Credo, J&J Business policies, Healthcare Compliance, Regulatory, GAAP, and Sarbanes Oxley are adhered to in all aspects of job responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required preferably a major in Accounting or Finance.

  • A MBA and/or CPA, CMA, are preferred.

  • A minimum of five years of finance or related business experience is required.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic industry is preferred.

  • The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.

  • Candidate must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel) and presentation (PowerPoint), as well as conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to think creatively, navigate ambiguity and work in a team environment is required.

  • Candidate must have a consistent track record in business partnering and project management, must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle several tasks simultaneously.

  • Up to 10% travel required

The base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $166,750 USD.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
