Insight Global Design Engineer II in New Berlin, Wisconsin

Job Description

Work safely and courteously, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.

 Utilize product, design, material, and manufacturing experience to conceptualize and design custom-engineered products or improvements to existing designs, applying engineering principles and utilizing CAD software.

 Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, R&D, QA, Operations) to ensure designs align with customer and production requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

 Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, BOM, and technical documentation necessary for prototyping, manufacturing, and testing phases.

 Perform analysis to validate design concepts, identify potential issues, and optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

 Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams during production, troubleshooting design-related issues, and implementing necessary corrective actions.

 Perform all other duties as assigned.

Key Design Engineer II Objectives:

 Product Design: Review product concepts and application requirements to design and develop new custom product iterations or improve existing designs using advanced CAD software and innovative methodologies.

 Manufacturing Outputs: Independently lead design and outputs to manufacturing for standard product configurations.

 CAD Modeling: Create models and drawings of custom products using CAD software.

 Technical Documentation: Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and technical documentation for prototyping, manufacturing, and testing.

 Engineering Team Collaboration: Utilize product design and application knowledge to contribute as a key member of the Engineering team, facilitating the implementation of innovative engineering solutions.

 Reverse Engineering: Support engineering and operations teams with reverse-engineered solutions designed to company standards.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field required.

 Proven record of stable work history and exemplary attendance.

 Proven engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

 Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.

 Proficiency with ERP system functions required for Engineering processes.

 Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.

 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Proficient with engineering software and systems.

 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate records.

 Ability to travel 5-10% of the time as needed. Manufacturing industry experience.

 5+ years of Design Engineering experience. null
