SALARY: $60.03-$76.44, per hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Colville Tribal Utility Corporation Board of Directors
LOCATION: Nespelem, Washington
Basic Functions:
The Colville Tribal Utility Corporation General Manager reports directly to the Utility Board of Directors. The position directs and administers all utility activities within a general framework of approved policies, budgets, and programs developed by the Utility Directors. This position frequently contacts members of the utility commission, state government officials and elected city officials, contractors, consultants, utility department heads, employees, and the general public.
The General Manager is to promote the economic growth of the Colville Tribal Utility Company with existing businesses and new opportunities and foster the entrepreneurship of tribal resources. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the sustainable development and empowerment of Colville Reservation.
As the CTUC General Manager, the incumbent will serve as the chief executive, assuming direct charge of the utilities' business. This role is subject to the control of the Utility Commission and is responsible for supplying customers with adequate and reliable electric, water, and sewer service at the lowest rates consistent with costs and board policy. You will also need to give due regard to the utilities' obligation to the customers, the employees, and various government bodies who authorize the utilities' existence and regulate its operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Education and Training: *
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. (Advanced Degree preferred: MBA, JD, etc.). Provide copy of diploma and resume.
- A preferred 7-10 years of progressive experience in electrical and water utility operations, business administration, corporate strategy, engineering, consulting or a related field, with a proven track record of success in identifying and executing new business opportunities.
- Work experience in and/or knowledge of public utilities which demonstrates an understanding of planning, KPIs, operations management, and business development.
- Work experience and appropriate education which demonstrates a thorough understanding and advanced working knowledge of the full spectrum of financial operations and issues, including budget development, audits, contract administration and payroll.
- Related work experience in the private and public sector with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of contacts, including staff, managers, clients, stockholders, and customers.
- Appointment is contingent upon successful clearance of a law enforcement level security background investigation and credit history check.
- Requires a valid Washington State Drivers' License
- Must be eligible for Officers Errors & Omissions Insurance
