DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Corporate Segment in Rocky Mount, NC.

Job Summary:

Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals : You’ll champion proactive health and safety behaviors, identify and report potential hazards, and participate in actions to improve health and safety, fostering a culture of safety and contributing to an injury-free workplace.

  • Drawing Interpretation : You’ll integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes that meet product design specifications, ensuring efficiency and quality.

  • Equipment/Capital Procurement : You’ll select manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs, ensuring that the equipment supports the manufacturing process and contributes to overall efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Manufacturing Analysis Led Design : You’ll use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment, and performance, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvements and optimize manufacturing operations.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge : You’ll demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications, contributing to continuous improvement and meeting the function’s needs.

  • Process Documentation : You’ll produce detailed and accurate manufacturing procedures in proper sequence, ensuring that all stakeholders follow the standardized processes, which helps maintain consistency and quality in manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Project Leadership: Lead specific projects to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing processes, ensuring safety, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

  • Manufacturing Expertise: Apply knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to improve equipment and processes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize continuous improvement tools, follow Cummins standards, and lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Lead communications with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

  • Resource Management: Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

  • Advanced Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as applied to Cummins.

  • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships and coach key stakeholders.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient systems, machines and processes ending in high quality products.

  • Develop process designs and coordinate with tooling and equipment for construction and validation.

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of the machine, equipment, station, and process.

  • Ensures compliance with workplace Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • install new equipment and ensure it operates correctly.

  • Apply Product Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (PFMEA) for the design of New Process.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical Degree

  • Experience in Implementation of New Equipment or Process

  • Management of MCR

  • Process Documentation Knowledgeable

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $96,000.00 - 144,000.00

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
