Position Summary/Description:

The Department of Philosophy and the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics ( PPE ) Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seek to appoint a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor and core faculty member in the PPE Program, to begin July 1, 2024. The initial appointment will be for a term of two years with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The successful candidate will also hold the title of Postdoctoral Fellow in the Applied Epistemology Project (aep.unc.edu), a multi-year PPE project directed by Prof. Alex Worsnip that began in 2022, and will work as an integral part of that project.

The successful candidate will teach two undergraduate PPE -related courses per semester and be actively involved in the Applied Epistemology Project and its events. This candidate should have an AOS in epistemology and/or in social and political philosophy, ideally with an AOC in the other area. They should also be able and willing to teach courses that count toward the PPE minor. Further information about the PPE Program and its courses is available at ppe.unc.edu.

The position offers salary commensurate with qualifications and state health benefits.
