Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER. Responsibilities Provides application environment support and services as follows: Conducts research into application/system malfunctions. Designs, tailors and within area of responsibility presents standardized training courses to customers for any unique software or hardware suite if contractor training is not available. Performs detailed information technology (IT) studies within the unit's area of responsibility. Designs, tailors documents, tests, prototypes, and implements application software and utilities for all new and existing systems on hardware ranging from mainframes to micro-computer systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. At the GS-07 grade level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to (1) test, maintain, and monitor computer systems; (2) analyze customer requests and investigate problem reports, and (3) provide IT technical assistance to customers. At the GS-09 grade level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
