Commander, Navy Installations FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in Naval Shipyard, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY NORFOLK NSY. Salary Range for GS-09: $60,808.00 - $79,050.00 Salary Range for GS-10: $66,963.00 - $87,049.00 Responsibilities You will manage training evolutions involving fire suppression, EMS operations, and response to hazardous materials incidents. You will evaluate the performance in the delivery of basic life support and/or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service. You will facilitate training on detecting, reducing, or eliminating of potential fire hazards. You will demonstrate history of leading others and working as member of a team to accomplish emergency and non-emergency objectives and history of sound tactical decision-making and good judgment. You will operate as a team member in group instruction and certification initiatives such as regional fire academies and agency group instructional needs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications (GS-10) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Manages training evolutions involving fire suppression, EMS operations, and response to hazardous materials incidents; 2) Having extensive knowledge in shipboard firefighting and facilitating training between vessels and other entities; 3) Evaluates the performance in the delivery of basic life support and/or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service; and 4) Facilitates training on detecting, reducing, or eliminating of potential fire hazards. (GS-09) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with training evolutions involving fire suppression, EMS operations, and response to hazardous materials incidents; 2) Understanding shipboard firefighting and facilitating training between vessels and other entities; and 3) Providing assistance with training on detecting, reducing, or eliminating of potential fire hazards. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
