United States Fleet Forces Command LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Naval Base, Virginia
Summary You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Surface Fire Control/Guns Branch Code 294, Combat Systems (Weapons) Divison Code 290, Engineering Department Code 200, of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will be a team leader of organized teams composed of not fewer than 11 General Schedule technicians (or contractor equivalents). You will lead functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of the following Surface Fire Control and Guns systems with the responsibility to further pursue and maintain technical competency You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports or similar problems affecting assigned equipment, You will train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects. You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with overseeing the lifecycle of a project, and reporting status and progress, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality until completion. Experience leading a team, communicating directives, policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance, while providing areas of improvement when needed. Experience applying mastery knowledge of methods, and techniques for overhaul, and repair of shipboard mechanical and electrical engineering systems. Experience with integrated test plans and the impact to naval vessel systems or similar. Experience providing technical assistance, training, systems qualifications test environment for urgent-mission-degrading Casualty Report or similar problems.
