Naval Air Systems Command PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida

Summary You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST COMMANDING OFFICER PAO/PROTOCAL OFC of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will develop new informational materials, including news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcasts, etc. You will apply various analytical and evaluative techniques to prepare and deliver written and visual information. You will apply extensive public affairs knowledge to the development, analysis, and evaluation of campaigns. You will utilize communication theory, techniques, and platforms to generate community engagement. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Writing and communicating principles, methods, and techniques that relate to public affairs of the military; 2) Developing new information materials including news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots, etc., that increase communication with the command's/agency's audiences; 3) Utilizing evaluation techniques and methods to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of social media activities; 4) Performing advanced multimedia work using digital photo/video/graphic manipulation software (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.); and 5) Coordinating media participation in high-profile command stories, events and ceremonies, providing onsite opportunities for journalists and other media professionals.
