Mississippi Employer Security Officer in Natchez, Mississippi

We are now looking to expand our team as we continue to provide the city of Natchez with the best customer service and gaming experience possible! Our current opening is for a 

Security Officer

. This position will report directly to the 

Director of Security 

and will be responsible for the following:

  • Continual active patrol of assigned area; ensures all company property is patrolled to provide for overall asset protection and optimum guest and team member assistance and safety.
  • Writes detailed reports regarding incidents of theft, injury, property damage or other matters affecting Saratoga Black Hawk guests.
  • Completes pit fills/credits.
  • Completes table drop.
  • Assists in slot drops, coin and currency.
  • Stands guard over the premises to prevent theft, violence or infractions of the rules, to direct guests or team members and to answer questions.
  • Patrols assigned areas to watch for suspicious persons and activities
  • Reports irregular activities or apprehends or expels violators according to policy.
  • Assists in enforcing all city, county and state and federal laws and/or ordinances where applicable.
  • Ensures effective and professional interface with all public services officials and any representative form other casinos.
  • Assists guest and team members in the completion of incident/accident report.
  • Ensures all support duties and responsibilities to all department are carries out in an efficient and timely manner and that immediate action is taken on any situation which might be illegal, life-threatening, or otherwise extraordinary.
  • Learns Company Emergency Evacuation Procedures efficiently handle fires, evacuations, robbery attempts, bomb threats, etc. in a professional and calm manner that will not panic guest or team members.
  • Identify all possible safety hazards and remove those hazards in an expedient manner.
  • Preforms CPR/Medical Assistance when needed. 
  • Receives and logs found items. 
  • Escorts guests and team members to their vehicles when needed. 
  • Works with the local police station to ensure incidents are referred to them when escalation is needed. 
  • Performs AED procedures in emergency situations. 

     

The successful candidate for this role will possess the following: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Security Guard License preferred. 
  • Must be a strong communicator both verbally and written. 
  • Presents and performs with a positive and ethical demeanor while making sound judgement decisions. 
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure. 
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple problems at the same time. 
  • AED & CPR certifications preferred. 
  • Fire Extinguisher training preferred. 
  • Knowledge of general emergency procedures including evacuation for fires, robberies, bomb threats, or other natural disasters. 
  • Ability to remain calm, professional in all situations is required. 
  • Strong ability to deescalate situations is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and uphold a state gaming license(s).
  • Able to lift 50lbs frequently.
  • Able to stand and walk for 8 - 10 hours.

Casino employees may be required to obtain a Mississippi Gaming License. Cost of license is covered by Saratoga Casino Holdings, LLC. Travel to Jackson, MS will be mandatory for this licensing process.
