Amazon Sr. Retail Design Program Manager, WW Retail Growth & Development in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

We are looking for an innovative Retail Store Design Program Manager to join Worldwide Retail Growth and Development! The Worldwide Retail Growth and Development team is responsible for the strategic planning, acquisition, design, construction, launch, and maintenance of Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores' real estate assets. This role will build and iterate processes and mechanisms to streamline Design workflows, manage the pipeline of projects while evaluating and removing blockers to achieving critical path milestones, and manage stakeholder input to programmatic and site specific design drawings.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience in retail store design, program management, and project management. We are looking for someone who can develop best-in-class processes, mechanisms, and can effectively drive multiple projects through phases of design and permitting. This position will collaborate with and be the primary POC for internal and external stakeholders including Construction, Merchandising, Operations, and Real Estate. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must.

Key job responsibilities

•Develop mechanisms and templates to effectively gather and translate business requirements into design standards, and ultimately into site specific drawings

•Manage and organize forums for stakeholder and leadership reviews of program and site-specific design drawings. Ensure drawing changes are communicated to stakeholder teams and cost impacts are account for

•Manage the critical path and key milestone dates of projects in development and ensure design dates are met. Act as primary POC with internal and external stakeholders to remove blockers and coordinate deliverables

•Coordinate with Estimating and Construction teams on budget considerations and identifying opportunities for value engineering for specific projects

•Support program-wide cost-to-build reduction initiatives, collaborating with Design, Construction, and Estimating to identify opportunities to reduce build costs while maintaining program requirements

•Providing clear and concise communication and reporting with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

•Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills to ensure on time delivery and adherence to budgets

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of design experience

  • Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into right solutions

  • Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)

  • Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
