Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Central Dock, NACF Central Flow in Nashville, Tennessee

Amazon is looking for a Sr. Program Manager to join the Flow team, specifically to join the Central Dock team.

The Sr. Program Manager has complete responsibility for Post-Slam operations within a shift for the Central Dock team, as well as emerging pilots and initiatives within the AR Sortable Post-SLAM space. This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.

This high-visibility role will be responsible for a subset of Fulfillment Center (FC) Post-SLAM DEA performance, revising/surfacing business metrics in an intuitive and actionable manner, exposing opportunities to reduce variation or complexity across the network, and supporting cross-functional process/software improvements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leads the delivery of large-scale programs and initiatives independently, taking ownership of local initiatives.

  • Handles complex problems, decisions, and escalations, mitigating long-term risks and finding a path forward in difficult situations.

  • Determines the strategy and simplifies or extends solutions to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Drives the use of best practices, unblocks teams, and increases the speed of delivery.

  • Negotiates resources and priorities, collaborates and influences team members, working with development teams and presenting projects to senior leadership regularly.

  • Manages meetings effectively, putting the right people in the room, driving detailed discussions, and aligning on high-level goals.

  • Communicates clearly and concisely in various formats, including presentations to leaders up to 3 tiers above their level.

  • Improves, streamlines, and eliminates excess process to drive efficiencies and create predictable process paths.

  • Creates and solves difficult business problems, thinking big and developing new ideas, while applying high standards to weed out less impactful ideas.

  • Partners to build and execute on new initiatives and roadmaps each year.

  • Builds relationships and identifies stakeholders across the organization.

  • Leverages data analytics to isolate and justify initiatives worth investing business resources.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in ambiguous environments and leads other teams without a clear short-term solution.

A day in the life

The Central Flow Sr. Program Manager role, at it's core, embodies Amazon's Day 1 mentality. The Sr. Program Manager at Central Flow will rely heavily on Amazon's leadership principles; leading through ambiguity, their process knowledge, and intuition will drive process improvements across Post-SLAM Operations. The Sr. Program Manager role is paramount in driving change across multiple facets of the organization.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: using and analyzing data, building strong partnerships with various cross-functional teams across Amazon, creating and owning department-wide initiatives, deep diving site/regional level performance, developing and owning new or existing products and programs end-to-end, identifying & building resource centers, scaling initiatives to a network-wide audience, prior day metric reporting, and more. About the team

The Central Flow Team supports North America Customer Fulfillment and is responsible for managing the workflow of customer orders across multiple shipping processes. We focus on managing customer experience while minimizing fulfillment cost. The primary goal of the team is to execute efficient and effective workflow management through partnership with site leaders. Additionally, Central Flow supports innovation in fulfillment to drive the business forward and is a conduit to channel best practices across the network for real-time process improvement, supporting network wide initiatives at the speed the business requires. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
