Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

Enterprise Mobility and Thin Client Senior Platform Engineer will provide level three support for VMWare WorkSpace One applications and IGEL thin client software for the enterprise. Candidate will be responsible for version testing, software upgrades, and documentation for these software applications. Support of the IGEL thin client software and ensuring optimal operations and minimal disruption is a primary responsibility for this role.

Candidate will work directly with field engineers and division directors to provide thin client standards and strategic updates. Candidate will also work directly with thin client vendors on product support issues and product roadmaps. Provide customer support to the IGEL community admins and directors across the organization. Candidate is expected to be self-directed and motivated to learn new technologies and leadership skills.

Candidate is expected to have advanced general technical and operational skills and will serve as the subject matter expert on complex technologies.

Interacts with other IT&S departments to address an overall strategy for Workspace One platforms and IGEL Thin Client systems within the enterprise (ITSD, lTG, Information Security, Field IT support staff, Advanced Architecture, DTS community, System Administrator community).

Included in the candidate’s skillsets the candidate will ideally have knowledge of VMWare services and IGEL thin client software. It is not required, but helpful for the candidate to be familiar with the Mac OS systems and both Apple and Android devices.

Must have strong customer focus, be a team player and display a positive attitude.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral, a must. Strong problem-solving abilities and creative approaches.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Testing IGEL versions and desktop devices for stability.

• Provides operational support for VMWare applications and IGEL thin client software

• Supports desktop technology for new projects. Participates, as needed, in technical implementation projects.

• Works closely with enterprise personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems used to support corporate.

• Coordinates sharing of best practices and policies and procedures.

• Participates in activities which improve departmental and organizational performance.

• Interfaces directly with a wide variety of end users and technical counterparts in other division, facility, and corporate roles.

• Assists in training of team members and IGEL field admins.

• Adheres to and supports HCA IT&S standards, policies, and procedures.

• Maintains and protects confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care.

• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.

• Mentors team members through Team Lead role.

• Provides monthly MOR metrics reporting to department manager.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

• Must have excellent customer service skills; a passion for serving others.

• Team oriented spirit. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Developed leadership skills.
