Burns & McDonnell Senior Civil Site Engineer – Transmission & Distribution (Multiple Locations) in Nashville, Tennessee
Description
The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the production of site development design packages in support of a variety of transmission and distribution projects across multiple clients in the public and private sector. A key focus area will be client and peer to peer interaction for both site-based and linear projects. The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the civil site team in collaboration with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Mentoring less experienced engineers in their technical and professional development.
Performing quality control reviews.
Leading/overseeing site grading and stormwater management designs.
Leading/overseeing the development of permitting documentation.
Providing support for our clients during permitting and construction.
Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
Leading a team of multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc.
Preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications, permitting documents, which may include model outputs, exhibits and correspondence.
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with the ability to adapt to various site conditions.
Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Leading project proposal efforts.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and licensure as a Professional Engineering (PE).
Seven (7) years of civil engineering or environmental engineering experience, consulting preferred. Master of Science degree in civil or environmental engineering may be substituted for one (1) year experience.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a dynamic, quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and principles to support various submittals associated with design, permitting and client requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills (e.g., hydraulic and hydrologic analysis programs, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Pondpack, StormCAD, HY-8, TR-20).
Professional engineering (PE) license strongly preferred.
