Position Goal:Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
  • Operates all portables and C-Arm equipment.
  • Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
  • Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
  • Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Stocks necessary supplies.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Assists with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Imports and uploads outside CDs for clinic.
  • Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
  • Promote Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
  • Reflect HCO values and is sensitive to HCOs ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
  • Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
  • Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks.
  • Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Experience:Six months experience as a radiologic technologist required. Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.
  • Current ARRT certification and current TN licensure.
  • BLS certification.

Special Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of radiographic technique
  • Knowledge of PACS
  • Vast knowledge of muskuloskeletal anatomy.
  • Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • Working knowledge of all types of portables, C-Arm, CR and DR X-Ray equipment.
  • Valid Drivers License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Travel is required.
