Surface Transportation org is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Maintenance business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business.

This Program Manager will be responsible for leading the Vendor Performance team in holding our maintenance vendors accountable for meeting our high performance bar Additionally, this role is responsible for defining the vision, roadmap and driving program execution of our vendor performance strategy. The role involves day to day interaction with senior Amazon leaders as internal customers, understanding their needs and converting them into efficient business models. The role requires regular interactions with multiple teams and jointly working with them to meet both short term and long term business needs. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution.

Key job responsibilities

• Hold vendors accountable for SLA/KPI targets, identifying actions to drive performance.

• Partner with procurement and partner teams to ensure alignment between contracts and performance measurement strategy.

• Write whitepapers to gain initial buy-in and alignment as well as provide status updates as the project completes critical milestones and time intervals.

• Identify key performance metrics and create a reporting suite that allows for program management when the program is fully scaled.

• Define short-term, mid-term, and long-term timelines and project phases.

• Lead supply chain risk mitigation activities and correct vendor performance issues.

A day in the life

This role is will lead a team of vendor performance managers to drive maximum asset performance. Tasks include hosting/supporting daily/weekly business reviews, deep diving vendor driven performance challenges, and leading key initiatives to drive towards our north star vision.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of team management experience

  • 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • 3+ years of vendor management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
