Instagram is looking for a Global Brand Strategist with proven experience of establishing and growing brands both at the foundational management and creative level. We are looking for someone who is both humble and inspiring - able to unlock the human and cultural story behind every data point, challenge assumptions and inspire creatives and product teams to develop impactful marketing strategies in service of real human needs. To be successful at Instagram, you need to embrace the hacker ethos: an ability to move fast, iterate and always be adding value. The successful candidate will need to be tenacious and open, creative and analytical. Partnering closely with the Creative, Integrated, and Product Marketing teams, this role will lead the brand foundations for Instagram and continue to develop global standards to define and refine the Instagram brand as it continues to grow and evolve. We’re looking for someone who elevates the craft, influences and partners across the organization to connect the dots between marketing, product and strategy teams to fuel brand growth. In addition, you will support the Integrated Marketing team and be able to extract true insights that translate into inspiring briefs that spark world class creativity.

Required Skills:

  1. Establish, evolve and align the ongoing brand strategy and positioning for Instagram and future north star strategy in partnership with the company brand team.

  2. Lead by example, become an expert on Instagram’s brand, products, audience and north star vision.

  3. Lead in partnership with our design and content teams the ongoing development, refinement and global implementation of the Instagram brand identity system.

  4. Partner with product and design leadership to drive the integration of a holistic brand strategy.

  5. Lead and be the brand evangelist, influencing company leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring brand strategy is reflected in work and activities.

  6. Collaborate with cross functional leads to refine the 2022 strategy and represent the brand in the planning process.

  7. Collaborate with our internal insights team and external partners to design and analyze research.

  8. Understand and contextualize technological and market trends and audience behavior to inform strategy and creative development.

  9. Capture and bring to life human insights that champion our community to inform creative briefs.

  10. Deliver creative briefings, collaborating with and supporting creative teams throughout the process.

  11. Drive and apply strategy across diverse, concurrent campaigns and partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years experience as a brand marketer, planner or strategist at a brand or creative agency, consultancy or internal brand-based team.

  2. Experience building and evolving brand strategies and architectures.

  3. Experience working with product strategy and product teams to bridge the gap and build a cohesive brand.

  4. Experience translating insights, ideas, and data into customer value.

  5. Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and building influential and collaborative relationships.

  6. Experience developing and establishing leadership alignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge with global brand strategy leadership/stewardship working & collaborating with international teams.

  2. Experience working both in-house and with creative agency teams.

  3. Tech sector background (product and UX acumen/understanding).

  4. Experience in entrepreneurial, nimble and fast-paced environments that are ever changing.

  5. Proven track record of connecting product technology brands with human connection/emotional benefits.
