Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Description:

  • The Patient Care Pharmacy Technician will be PTCB or ASHP certified in the State of Tennessee.

  • This role focuses on patient care and communication, particularly for IV patients and those requiring specialty medication.

  • Closed door pharmacy: No patients visit the pharmacy location directly!

Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Conduct assessment calls and provide lab assistance to patients over the phone.

  • Respond to patient inquiries and update prescription information via phone calls.

Data Management:

  • Perform data entry tasks with accuracy and efficiency

Pharmacy Support:

  • Fulfill the duties of an IV Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • PTCB Certification

  • State of Tennessee Pharmacy License

  • Experience in pharmacy, particularly as a Pharmacy Technician

  • Proficient in customer service

  • Strong data entry and computer skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Home infusion experience is a plus

  • Must obtain a license within 90 days of hire if not already licensed

Work Environment:

  • Work hours are Monday to Friday, with potential for extended hours based on current volume.

  • Discussions regarding staggered shifts, ranging between 8:30am-6:30pm, are ongoing - Flexibility is provided.

  • Technicians will be on a rotating on-call schedule once a month.

  • The pharmacy operates as a closed-door facility and is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas!

  • Emphasis is placed on work-life balance to ensure quality of life and retention.
