We are seeking a self-motivated, insightful, and results-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to join our North America Transportation team. Our team's mission is to enhance customer experience, improve operational performance, and drive cost efficiencies across Amazon's transportation systems - from initial delivery promise to final mile delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BI Engineer who wants to develop creative, innovative ways of interacting with and interpreting key performance indicators to shape the future of Amazon's transportation capabilities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to uncover insights, identify opportunities for improvement, and influence strategic decision-making.

Key job responsibilities

A Day in the Life: As our Business Intelligence Engineer, you will:

• Work closely with program managers to develop BI and analytics solutions that provide visibility into transportation issues, opportunities, and performance

• Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends, identify root causes, and surface improvement opportunities

• Own the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, reports, visualizations, and dashboards to drive data-driven decision-making

• Create and optimize transportation metrics to deliver actionable insights related to operational excellence and customer experience

• Collaborate with engineers to architect and implement automated data solutions

• Develop a deep understanding of Amazon's supply chain and transportation ecosystem

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

• Experience building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g., ETL, data models, queries)

• Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports

• Knowledge of improving code quality and optimizing BI processes (e.g., speed, cost, reliability)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

• Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
