Business Analyst (Accounting Focus – Contract) Location: Onsite in Nashville, TN

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate & Translate: Act as the liaison between accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure seamless communication and execution of business objectives.

• Data Analysis Excellence: Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvements that drive process efficiencies and business performance.

• Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to accounting and financial processes, ensuring alignment with company goals.

• Process Optimization: Evaluate, streamline, and support enhancements in accounting workflows, such as AP/AR, financial reporting, and other key accounting processes.

• Systems Savvy: Collaborate on the implementation, optimization, or integration of accounting systems, ensuring proper functionality, compliance, and user satisfaction.

• Reporting Guru: Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and KPIs, providing management with actionable insights and detailed reporting.

• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in accounting functions or processes with speed and accuracy.

  Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on accounting or finance operations.

• Solid understanding of core accounting functions such as AP, AR, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.

• Advanced proficiency with Excel, including building models, pivot tables, and automation tools.

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems/software; knowledge of NetSuite, Workday Financials, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle ERP is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with non-technical and technical stakeholders alike.

• Experience with process improvement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.) is a bonus.
