Job Summary and Qualifications

The Brand Activation Director reports to the Assistant Vice President of Brand Activation. In partnership with AVP of Brand Activation and other members of the enterprise Brand Marketing teams, s/he directs the development and oversight of brand marketing strategies and programs across the enterprise. S/he develops, leads and manages insight-driven and audience-focused brand marketing campaigns that support key business objectives. S/he develops and manages enterprise partnerships, scalable tools and resources, application of research and insights, and reporting to facilitate development of high impact, scalable brand marketing strategies.

This position requires unique competencies, including large-scale systems thinking, advanced business acumen, and inherently collaborative personality. S/he must be adept at navigating complex organizations with matrix reporting relationships, connecting and building trust among multiple stakeholders, as well as adapting to dynamic environments. An understanding of HCA Healthcare, the healthcare industry, strategic planning, marketing, and business analysis valuable to this role.

What you will do in this role:

Strategic Planning & Research/Insights Leadership:

· Lead creation of scalable brand marketing strategies that include B2C, B2B, and operational components.

· Lead discovery efforts to identify opportunities, quantify business impact, and provide solution recommendations for new initiatives.

· Oversee development of initiative business cases and proposals that include background analysis, strategy definition, project approach, resourcing, budgeting, and timing.

· Utilize research and insights to guide strategy and identify areas of need for further research and analysis.

Brand Marketing Initiative Leadership & Collaboration:

· Provide leadership and direction of brand marketing initiatives and enterprise deployments of these initiatives.

· Support Marketing & Corporate Affairs leaders by providing recommendations around opportunities for enhancing plans based on research and insights, enterprise priorities and best practices.

· Act as a resource for Marketing leaders, consulting on brand marketing initiatives and sharing best practices across Groups and Divisions.

· Facilitate decision-making that is required for progress on projects and programs.

· Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for Marketing & Corporate Affairs to align with key business priorities.

· Build and maintain excellent relationships through high quality, engaged service to all of key internal and external stakeholders.

· Work in partnership with Marketing & Corporate Affairs teams as well as other business area teams across the organization to align brand marketing strategies with strategic growth priorities, policies and procedures of HCA Healthcare.

Marketing & Corporate Affairs Initiative Implementation:

· Work closely with Marketing & Corporate Affairs leaders, project management team members, marketing colleagues and external agencies to ensure successful implementation of initiatives, programs and projects.

· Assemble models, frameworks, tools and resources to successfully deploy brand marketing initiatives.

· Demonstrate a commitment to learning and evaluation. Work closely with stakeholders to track key performance indicators and evaluate outcomes related to brand marketing plan execution, target audience impact and achievement of business goals.

· Manage agencies, vendors and external partners as related to execution of brand marketing Initiatives.

· Support in determining appropriate reporting metrics to clearly articulate successes and identify opportunities to optimize and change strategies.

· Identify current and future risks to initiatives, develop recommendations for mitigation strategies and work proactively with leadership to mitigate.

· Provide analysis of initiatives, critical evaluation of progress against business goals and define recommendations for optimization or further evaluation/investment.

Brand Marketing Strategy and Operations Team Management:

· Oversight of activities of brand marketing managers, marketing staff, project managers and external vendors.

· Identify regular developmental opportunities for team members.

· Partner with indirect leaders to ensure betterment of broader team skill sets.

· Provide coaching, mentoring and developmental feedback to teams members (direct and indirect).

Additional Core Responsibilities:

· Serve as advisor and thought leader to internal business units on brand marketing strategy, business impact and opportunity identification and assessment.

· Become a go-to source for marketing resources and information by taking a leadership role in sharing best practices and enterprise knowledge of team members, skills, capabilities and tools.

· Building and maintaining relationships with enterprise leadership, key business sponsors and vendors.

What qualifications you will need:

· Bachelor’s degree required

· Master’s degree preferred

· 7+ years of relevant work experience

· 3+ years of management experience
