BAE Systems Senior Product Engineer - Test in Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Description

As a Product Test Engineer you will Design, develop, and implement electrical testing methods and equipment. Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating electronic modules, subassemblies, and systems. Assist in the diagnosis of failed products. Responsible for working with production technicians to diagnose failures and facilitate rework. Compile data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Develop training, debug, and retest guidelines as required. Develop Preventative Maintenance Plans for test solutions.

The successful candidate will provide day to day support to the manufacturing floor ensuring smooth operation of test processes and assisting test technicians as necessary. Will implement and improve test equipment and processes to ensure reliable and robust test coverage. Will work closely with Process Engineering, assemblers, testers, and inspectors as well as with design engineering to solve a variety of simple to complex manufacturing and test problems. Will perform periodic Test Process and software audits for compliance to AS9100 policies.

Detailed role and responsibilities:

Product support in the test environment:

Support the factory on new product transitions, production, and depot (field return upgrades) product test considerations.

Learn product functionality to enable Ops to independently and successfully troubleshoot product and test stand issues.

Diagnose product failures, Trouble shoot failures to root cause.

Train techs in the operation of test procedures and equipment.

Train techs in the diagnosis of faults.

Define rework/retest requirements in response to failures and rework.

Write Discrepancies/ Non-conformances and disposition as necessary.

Recommend design, process, or test changes based upon defect data.

Test product if required due to schedule or manpower constraints.

Feedback test process problems to Engineering as necessary.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Requires 7-10 years broad hands-on experience in Test or Electrical engineering supporting Subassembly and test in a manufacturing environment. Experience with shop floor control software including Solumina, Tip QA, or similar enterprise applications is desired. A quality focus is required with solid knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and experience evaluating quality data and implementing sound corrective and preventive action. Must be comfortable preparing presentations and speaking and presenting to teammates of diverse backgrounds, management levels, and technical capabilities. Must be detail oriented and administratively strong since record keeping and documentation integrity are critical.

Requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel in a team based environment.

Electrical Engineering degree required. Progress toward a degree and suitable experience will also be considered.

Requires an individual interested in working and learning in a hands-on capacity in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requires excellent capabilities in the use of Microsoft office tools and computer applications and software in a test environment.

Must be secret clearance eligible.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Electrical Engineering BS Degree

Experience with National Instruments Test Stand

Some experience with C/C , C#, Python and other scripting languages

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $89650 - $152460
