Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to provide support in our research and development lab. This role involves assisting Food Technologists, weighing ingredients, making samples, following blending procedures, cooking foods according to recipes, and creating recipes for R&D projects. The ideal candidate will form and cook products in the lab and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the lab equipment. Reporting on lab results is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Food Technologists in the R&D lab.

• Weigh ingredients and make samples following precise blending procedures.

• Follow formulas to create recipes for various R&D projects.

• Form and cook products in the lab.

• Clean glassware and sanitize pilot plant equipment after each run.

• Report on lab results accurately and promptly.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, either professional or academic.

• Strong interest in food science, food R&D, culinary arts, and cooking.

• Proficiency in MS Excel (ability to create formulas) and MS Word.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science is preferred but not required. A minimum of an Associate's degree in any science field is required, with a preference for degrees in food science, nutrition, or culinary arts.

• Experience in a food manufacturing plant is preferred but not mandatory.

• Passion for food science, culinary arts, and cooking.

• No food allergies.
