Job Summary: Meets the personal comfort and convenience needs of the patient and helps to facilitate the operations of the Reference Laboratory Department related to those needs. Performs a variety of routine and complex specimen collection procedures. Accurately completes a variety of data entry tasks, including test order entry and insurance verification. Communicates in a professional and courteous manner with patients, family and other medical personnel as necessary to solve problems, obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears and elicit cooperation.
Hours: Full-time (1.0 FTE) 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday includes weekend and holiday rotations. Required:
High School Diploma or GED or higher
Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Valid Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance
Completion of a phlebotomy training program including clinical rotations
Preferred:
- Phlebotomy certification
