Chervon North America Associate Product Manager | Outdoor Power Equipment in Naperville, Illinois

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Associate Product Manager – Outdoor Power Equipment will be responsible for a portion of our rapidly growing portfolio of outdoor power equipment.  You will collaborate with counterparts here in North America and in our Nanjing, China headquarters to create end user value through great products.

The Associate Product Manager will investigate opportunities to improve or grow our product portfolio, collaborating closely with the team to conduct both generative research and concept validation.  They will be responsible for managing their portion of the product portfolio, serving as the strategist, product champion, and subject matter expert for their categories.  The Associate Product Manager owns products from “cradle to grave,” meaning that they not only champion new product opportunities, but they also actively manage their existing portfolio including product transitions and life cycle management.

 Key Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a market-informed portfolio strategy and roadmap to create a strong linkage between our end users, brands, and products

  • Promote our products to customers and the sales teams through direct interaction by communicating capabilities, solutions, and product roadmaps

  • Create a market-leading user experience; work with our UX and industrial design teams to translate user needs and use cases into actionable user stories

  • Use direct user feedback and data analytics to drive continuous improvement of our existing products

  • Collaborate with brand marketing and creative teams to support development of messaging and marketing collateral

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our competition

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 2-5 years of experience in product management or similar roles

  • Work experience in roles involving defining, validating, launching, and managing products

  • Experience presenting and/or demonstrating in front of customers or users

  • Durable goods experience strongly preferred, ideally in a B-to-C environment

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This is an individual contributor role.

    Travel:

    This position requires approximately 20% travel; some international

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in professional office, retail, and outdoor environments as well as virtually.  Expect to work 3-5 days/week in the office and 0-2 days/week virtually when not traveling.
