Meals on Wheels Rockland Lead Food Service Worker in Nanuet, New York

JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE:LEAD FOOD SERVICE WORKER HOURS:25 HOURS PER WEEK - 5:30 AM - 10:30 AMSUPERVISOR:COMMISSARY ASSISTANT MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF FOOD SERVICE SALARY:$17.50 PER HOUR - NON-EXEMPT POSITIONSUMMARY STATEMENT OF POSITION:The Lead Food Service Worker assists with overseeing daily operational responsibilities of hot and cold service lines, congregate, senior center, and frozen meal programs. The Lead Food Service Worker sets the example of our standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality. This position is also responsible for the development of speed and accuracy of our production teams.REGULAR TASKS:1.Leads food production line during service, clean-up, and prep for the following day2.Supervises the packaging and distributes all frozen meal programs including SAC, Weekends, and Warming Center3.Operates food service machinery, such as wrapping machines and tray line packaging machines4.Oversees packaging and production in accordance to daily menu 5.Follow clients’ preference and diet orders while packaging meals on the tray line6.Provides staff support and work in various positions as needed for coverage7.Assists with cooler packaging and distribution during meal service 8.Expedites hot and cold line specials 9.Assists Operations Supervisor and Director with special projects and tasks, as needed10.Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area11.Performs job responsibilities in a safe and healthy manner, promptly reporting any safety or health issues to DirectorEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:•A self-starter with abilities to work independently and perform repetitive tasks.•Capable of standing, lifting 50 lbs., bending, and walking most of the day.•Ability to work cooperatively with all people.•Ability to work in warm and cold kitchen and storage environments•Must be capable of following written and oral directions.•Thorough knowledge of commissary operations•Excellent verbal and communication skills.•Basic Microsoft knowledge•Thorough knowledge of food service procedures•Ability to function in multifaceted facility and lead staff during production•Must have reliable transportation•ServSafe Certification (Preferred)

Minimum Salary: 17.50 Maximum Salary: 17.50 Salary Unit: Hourly
