We are looking to hire a RN Unit Supervisor for our Telemetry Unit at our Level III Trauma Center in Nampa! This position will be located at our Medical Center (http://https//www.saintalphonsus.org/location/saint-alphonsus-medical-center-nampa-1) at the corner of I-84 and Garrity Boulevard. The schedule for this position will be discussed during the interview process.

As a RN Supervisor working in the Telemetry unit in Nampa you will:

  • Assist the Nurse Manager in overseeing department operations, responsible for shift operations, quality of care, staffing, program development and evaluations and medical staff relations.

  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and QA representative to facilitate the interdisciplinary quality assurance program for nursing service delivery and overview of Quality and Safety initiatives.

  • Plan, assign and monitor work of staff.

  • Participate in supervisory duties including hiring, salary review, competency assessments, staff development, and counseling of employees.

  • Consistently perform the essential functions of a Registered Nurse in the unit and assist the nursing staff with patient care as needed.

  • Serve as a role model for nursing staff; maintain a current knowledge base of unit-specific nursing theory and skills.

  • Plan and/or participate in specific orientation of new employees including coordination of preceptors.

  • Serve as a mentor to new charge nurses.

  • Participate in development & review of policies and procedures and ensures they are reviewed, revised, and implemented in appropriate time frames.

  • Review patient grievances and incident (VOICE) reports.

  • Attend meetings and represent the Nurse Manager in his/her absence.

  • Facilitate communication between patients and families and their physicians, care givers, and other health team members.

What you will need to start work with us:

  • Idaho RN License

  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of nursing leadership and supervision as normally obtained through a bachelor’s degree in nursing with three years of RN experience in acute care or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network

  • Must have ACLS within 6 months of hire

  • One year of cardiac experience is preferred
