General Job Description

This is a managerial position responsible for developing data-based, integrated communication plans and enrollment strategies, and collecting and analyzing data to enhance recruitment efforts. Responsible for serving as lead data strategist for campus enrollment communication and initiatives. Responsible for overseeing processes and systems that impact data, programs, and communication related to area of responsibility. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Director of Admissions.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Collects and analyzes enrollment data.

  2. Organizes and communicates enrollment data to drive strategy development with campus departments.

  3. Develops, implements, evaluates, and maintains best practices for prospect development and communications, including but not limited to communication plans, evaluation of prospect conversion, and admitted student yield rates.

  4. Informs and executes admissions search strategy.

  5. Serves as the administrator for the Customer Relations Module ( CRM ) system.

  6. Develops and assesses communication plans and services that impact the student experience.

  7. Develops and implements admissions social media strategy.

  8. Collaborates with campus departments to investigate and validate data and admission strategies based on findings.

  9. Manages, implements, expands, and sustains automated processes that increase efficiency throughout the department.

  10. Hires, supervises, and trains assigned staff.

    Non-Essential Job Functions

  11. Participates in recruitment and retention activities as appropriate.

  12. Serves on university committees as needed.

  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university policies and procedures.

  2. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes and standards related to area of responsibility.

  3. Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.

  4. Ability to analyze complex information and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

  5. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  6. Ability to explain policies and procedures to students, staff, and the public.

  7. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  8. Ability to train and supervise others.

  9. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.

  10. Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.

  11. Ability to learn office and university-specific software.

  12. Ability to obtain a Texas driver’s license and SFA permit prior to employment.

  13. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

    Physical Demands

    Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.

Required Experience and Training

Four years of related experience is required. Professional experience in an admissions office at a higher education institution is required. Supervisory experience is required. Direct experience with Slate CRM is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in educational leadership, business, marketing or a related field is preferred. Professional experience with creating and implementing integrated communication plans is preferred.

This position is based on campus in Nacogdoches.

Benefit and Retirement Eligibility

This position is eligible for participation in the Optional Retirement Program ( ORP ), subject to the position being full-time and at least 4 ½ months in length, or the Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
