  • Salary Range: $80,772 - $96,936 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.).

Overview:

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide expertise in some of the most vital aspects of a project: plant equipment, piping, control systems, regulatory compliance, and life safety.

Major Responsibilities:

Typical Activities of the Fire Protection Engineering Team

  • Selecting and specifying equipment.

  • Preparing detailed system piping and instrumentation diagrams.

  • Performing system and equipment sizing calculations.

  • Establishing facility design requirements and developing the system safety basis.

  • Providing consulting and code interpretations to interfacing disciplines.

  • Supporting the development and/or maintenance of fire hazards analyses or fire protection design analyses.

  • Reviewing supplier and subcontractor designs and installations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months.

  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.

  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months.

  • Experience with fire modeling using CFAST.

  • Knowledge of life safety and building codes, including NFPA, UL, and FM standards.

  • EIT/FE certification in Fire Protection Engineering.

  • Prior co-op or internship experience.

  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
