Technical Support Manager CEDI, Ionpure, AFS (m/f/d)

which can be located close to a Xylem site in Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium or the Netherlands

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support to the field sales team throughout the sales process including customer calls, site visits, proposals, and performance projections

  • Sizes and selects appropriate equipment/materials based on customer requirements and input from the sales team

  • Supports active programs to increase customer satisfaction. Can include, but not limited to customer satisfaction issues such as reliability issues, pricing, availability of product, spares/ product delivery, timely technical support on understanding operations of the plant etc.

  • Advises in disseminating standard product knowledge and provides virtual and on-site training

  • Evaluate DC power accessories through lab bench scale testing, including software and firmware updates

  • Works with the Technology & Innovation team, Marketing team, the product manager, and the engineering team on the development of product improvements

  • Troubleshoots installation issues by working directly with customers and sales to gather information, analyze results, determine probable causes, and develop solutions if necessary

  • Reviews and interprets module failure analysis reports and makes recommendations to improve equipment performance

  • Keeps up to date with regional regulatory changes that can impact equipment design and installation

  • Works closely with the Global Technical Manager of Ionpure on all necessary reporting from product performance and quality perspective, in addition to training events and requirements

  • Works very closely to EMEA sales team for project designs, internal and external trainings, trouble shooting, product specification etc.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering. Combination of other industry experience & education disciplines will be considered

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water treatment or a similar industry involving process design and equipment specification. Ultrapure water experience required

  • Good knowledge of water treatment processes, thorough knowledge preferred

  • Understanding of electrodeionization principles and process design

  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical control systems for water treatment equipment and use of electrical test apparatus such as multimeters

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs and electrical schematics, and to use engineering drawings in troubleshooting system operation.

  • Customer-oriented problem solver, adept at discussing technical subjects and key value propositions with customers and salespeople alike

  • Working with a sense of urgency and able to manage multiple projects at one time

  • Self-starter that can work in a team environment

  • Strong command in English language. Additionally, French language is strongly preferred (verbal and writing)

  • Travelling: up to 40% as required
