• Supports inpatient pharmacy operations for all clinical areas of the hospital, including ICU, medical/surgical, cardiac, pediatrics, and OB/L&D.

• Relief/PRN position primarily covering a combination of evening and morning operational shifts.

• Training for third shift coverage is also required

• Position Summary:

• Contributes to the care of the patient by developing pharmacotherapeutic regimens and counseling utilizing pharmacology, pathophysiology, pharmacokinetics, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Provide clinical pharmacy and drug information services to serve hospital staff and collaborate with physicians.

• Engages in quality improvement and professional growth to meet hospital, departmental, and personal goals.

• Compound, package, and dispense medications and IV solutions and preparations as ordered.

• Assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians and interns in the operations of the pharmacy.

• What the Inpatient Pharmacist will need:

• BS degree in Pharmacy. Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Advanced degrees (i.e., Doctorate of Pharmacy) and residency training preferred.

• Demonstrated commitment to hospital pharmacy practice, as demonstrated by recent (within 5 years) employment in hospital practice or advanced clinical pharmacy work.
