A preferred candidate has extensive knowledge in Gas Turbine repair and major over haul on 7B, &EA, and 501F turbines.
DUTIES:
Repairing of hydraulic turbines; steam turbines; electric and steam driven pumps; locomotive and powerhouse cranes; hoists; conveyors; elevators; steam, diesel and gasoline marine and stationary engines; internal combustion engines; steam electric locomotives; synchronous condensers; mechanical features of large capacity generators; and the operations of general machine shop equipment such as lathes, planers, shapers, milling machines, etc., in connection with those repairs. Most of this work will be performed at the various power plants, sometimes in isolated locations where it is necessary to utilize special methods and equipment.
Making inspections and checking on the general operative condition of mechanical and hydraulic equipment at various locations.
Will be required to travel to various locations throughout the valley.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a thorough knowledge of precision machine work and the mechanical and hydraulic characteristics of equipment, both obsolete and modern which is in operations at the various power plants, including the alignment and repairs of turbines and turbine equipment, hoists, governors, and related equipment. The work frequently involves handling and repairing large and expensive items of equipment which requires great care and accuracy.
Employees should have a high school education and must have several years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and hydraulic power plant equipment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Will be under the general supervision of the Production Manager, Field Services, and under the direct supervision of a Machinist Foreman, who assigns and checks work during progress and checks completed work for proper performance.
SUPERVISION OVER OTHERS:
Will usually supervise the work of one or two Helpers or Apprentices and occasionally one or more laborers, depending upon the requirements of each particular job.
