Position Overview:
Muscatine Christian Academy (MCA) is excited to launch our new high school program and is seeking a passionate and innovative Supervising Teacher to lead this initiative. The ideal candidate will be a Christ-centered educator who loves working with junior and senior high school students, thrives on creative problem-solving, and is adept at integrating technology into learning environments.
Type of Position:
Full-time, salaried
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing the high school programming in alignment with MCAs mission to glorify God through academic excellence.
- Facilitate engaging, interactive, and Christ-centered spaces which inspire students to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
- Mentor and support students by fostering a love for learning and encouraging their academic and spiritual development.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms to create dynamic learning experiences and ensure effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
- Implement MCAs Deeper Learning{target="blank"} pedagogy by utilizing our partnership withTeaching for Transformation{target="blank"}.
- Collaborate with MCA administration to evaluate program success and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out your faith in all aspects of life.
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Teaching experience, preferably with junior or high school students or in an online setting.
- Proficiency in using online learning platforms, digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google), and other educational technologies.
- Ability to think creatively and adapt to the unique challenges of virtual education.
- Strong communication skills and a heart for mentoring young people.
- Ability to build relationships with parents, guardians, administrators, and other key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum development for online or blended learning environments.
- Familiarity with Christian education principles and practices.
