Tidelands Health Biomedical Equipment Technician in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Position Summary: The Biomedical Equipment Technician maintains clinical equipment through the effective use if the Medical Equipment Management Plan, as guided by the Director of Clinical Engineering. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex medical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology from a two year college, technical school, or equivalent experience, required.

Experience/Certification : No experience to 3 years of experience servicing medical equipment.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools.

  • Basic knowledge of test equipment

  • Basic knowledge of electricity/electronics

  • Knows how to use MS Office and other computer applications

Not Required (recommended):

  • Knowledge of computers and networks

  • Medical equipment manufacture certification

  • Eligible for AAMI/ICC certification

  • Basic knowledge of types of medical equipment and medical terminology

  • Basic knowledge of electromechanical components

Physical Requirements: Medium While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally , and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently , and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
