As part of the Customer Fulfillment Finance team, you will join a team that is passionate about numbers, data, and how to use them to generate insights and improve our business. We support and influence the organization by providing a holistic and financial perspective, we are the trusted business advisors. We collaborate with our partners to ensure leaders have the most up to date and reliable information, and work with them to make sure we are making the best possible decisions.

This position is initially open through a 9-month contract.

Key job responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with your business partners to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions driving business improvements and cost reductions

• Identify risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps

• Understand the details of the cost structure to make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure.

• Supervise and own the Financial and operational planning processes to produce a challenging/stretch/bold yet solid operational plan

Customer Fulfilment, or CF, is where it all started for Amazon. CF has scaled up from a humble team of booksellers to a sophisticated global team which handles more than 1.5 million orders every day. The team is the foundation of our business and its efforts have helped us diversify across new regions and services. With the help of emerging technology, we’re always looking for ways to offer a bigger, better product range – delivered quickly and affordably.

The CF team are the first people in the chain that helps customers get products at the speed we’re known for. We’re responsible for Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazon’s fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the ‘First Mile’ because it’s where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree and solid work experience

  • Experience and applied knowledge of Accounting and/or Financial concepts

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL or any large-scale data mining and reporting tools (or willingness to learn)

  • Demonstrated business acumen while influencing and managing cross-functional relationships

  • Willingness to support an unpopular opinion if it is in favor of the customer

  • Passion for diving into the vast and complex details of productivity and cost measurements

  • Detail oriented and a passion for data with the ability to accurately summarize and share the relevant details
