The role of the Technical Consultant (TC) within the Neuromodulationteam is required to work in line with business needs in order to grow Medtronics business and marketshare whilst ensuring optimum therapy outcomes forpatients.

TCs need to develop strong relationships with customers, providing onsitetechnical support, liaising between customers and cross-functional internal teamsto ensure the timely and successful delivery of our service and product solutions

according to customer needs whilst improving the entire customerexperience.

A Day in the Life

Main job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure own product knowledge remains up to date for all current products. Assumethe responsibility for self-directed learning as well as participating in classroom ledtraining

  • Ensure own competitor knowledge remains up to date along with the ability topromote Medtronic products in line with clinician and service needs

  • Strive for successful patient outcomes through Medtronic Pain therapies

  • Operate as the lead point of contactfor all technical matters specific to yourcustomers needs, managing theatre and clinic sessions relating to trial,implantation andprogramming

  • Act as liaison between Medtronic, clinical and non-clinical customers in day to dayactivities including inventorymanagement and technicalqueries.

  • Identify and deliver appropriate training at an accountlevel. Deliver and participateas required atregional nurse training programs.

  • Ensure appropriate implantertraining needs are appropriately met through training courses

  • The accounts are managed following their segmentation and as described in thegovernance playbook for Customer targeting and value proposition

  • The focus should be on the XL-L-M accounts: 40 % at XL and Large accounts. (20 % - 20 %); 40 % at M accounts and 20 % at S accounts

  • Share marketintelligence with management and colleagues

  • Assist Field sales rep and BDM with forecast and track key account metrics (e.g.quarterly sales results and annual forecasts). Prepare reports on account status asrequired.

  • Complete all administration tasks including SFDC on regular basis.

  • The TC will consistently input all data in SFDC, MMX and Crossworld in line with theSET guidelines(sales excellence tools). Implant data, time allocation, and supportthe FSR with the inventory and UBD management

Clinical support

  • There is a large technical component to the role, managing both customer andpatient interactions with Medtronic devices. TCs will provide technical support,perform trouble-shooting functions and resolve customer issuesin accounts.

  • TCs along with Field sales representativeswill deploy adequate TE activities to reduce thereliance on clinical/follow-up support for accounts to become self- sufficient.

  • The TC will invest 100 % on support activities (Implants, follow up,..)

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Healthcare related experience with a commercial mindset.

  • Knowledge of theatre etiquette and wider hospital policies relating to interaction withindustry representatives

  • Experience in clinical or technical interactio nwith health care professionals and patient

  • German languageand business English language skills

  • Localized in the working territory (German part of Switzerland)

  • Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with salesmanagement, customers and across geographic and organizational boundaries.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels in anorganization and with diverse groups.

  • Ensures the customer is comfortable and confident to perform the procedure and isviewed as a trusted source of information to actively engages and coordinates pre-caseplanning with the procedure teams

  • Demonstrates ability to successfully apply knowledge and educate customers onMedtronic offerings and programming skills required to support cases

  • Able to troubleshoot difficult cases with confidence

  • Demonstrates strong core clinical competencies (recommended guidelines, diseasestate, anatomy, therapy area, current treatment methods, patient selection) and canread, understand and present clinical studies to external and internal customers.

  • Leverages product benefit insights, product specification, marketing strategy and clinicalevidence in interactions with customers within a competitiveenvironment. Knows and understands clinical evidence related to competitor products and is able tocompare against Medtronic offerings leverage Medtronic marketing campaign

  • Actively supports sales reps and manages inventory and ensures availability of productsfor upcoming procedures, and timely manages billing and other related admintasks

  • Actively engages and coordinates pre-case planning with the procedure teams,discusses treatment options and helps with device selection based on clinical evidences,access strategy etc. (activities depend on products carried and therefore not all arerelevant)

  • Appropriately usage of the CRM tools.(SFDC-MMX)

  • Qualifies opportunities that emerge during customer interactions (e.g., dissatisfactionwith current products, availability of budget etc.)

  • Demonstrates integrity and respect to peers and customer
