Google Technical Program Manager, Network Capacity Planning in Mumbai, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • 12 years of experience in technical program management working on cross-functional programs.

  • Experience in capacity planning, inventory, or infrastructure projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience in data modeling, trend analysis, statistics, forecasting or business insights.

  • Experience with network cache infrastructure (CDN) or network routing and peering.

  • Experience identifying and driving solutions that reduce toil, increase efficiency, and improve the customer experience.

  • Ability to drive projects forward in ambiguous and fast moving environments.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The team is responsible for the compute, storage, and networking capacity planning for Google Cloud.

  • Enable Google Cloud's growth and success by ensuring that network capacity is available to support Cloud products and customers.

  • Engage with product and customer teams to understand network capacity requirements, and create models, tools, and processes to forecast those requirements.

  • Coordinate with machine and storage planners to synchronize resource availability, and collaborate with partner teams to build responsive and resilient systems to manage network resources.

  • Balance resource efficiency with availability, and design and produce metrics to measure performance.
