Position Summary

Senior Software Engineer

Exp: 5+ Years hands-on development 

We are looking for a talented individual to work as a Senior Software Engineer on the technology project scrum teams.

What You Will Do

You will be a Senior Software Engineer, designing and developing applications in Python/PHP frameworks, deploying and supporting applications in on-premises and Azure environments, comfortable with reviewing code and making architectural decisions. Unit testing and refactoring is the norm in your day-to-day development activities. Educating and mentoring less skilled team members should come naturally., 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python or PHP.

• Implement and manage robust, high-performance backend systems.

• Develop and optimize SQL and/or noSQL database queries and structures.

• Work with distributed or parallel systems and micro-services to enhance application performance and reliability.

• Deploy and manage applications with a focus on high scalability and availability.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

• Perform command-line tasks and scripting in bash as needed.

• Ensure the backend infrastructure is secure, efficient, and up-to-date with the latest industry trends.

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Python or PHP.

• Proven experience in web application development with intermediate to advanced knowledge.

• Proficiency in information retrieval with intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and/or noSQL database technologies (eg. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Experience with distributed or parallel systems and micro-services architecture.

• Demonstrated experience with projects deployed to the public with high scalability and availability requirements.

• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

• Knowledge of cloud systems and networks is preferable.

• Familiarity with command line tasks, such as executing commands in bash.

• Working proficiency and strong communication skills in verbal and written English.

• Should be able to work independently.

• Should be able to transform requirements into business functionalities in apps

• Preferred practical experience with Azure or other Cloud providers 

• Preferred knowledge/experience of Agile Scrum framework and Azure DevOps 

• Experience working with test management tools, test automation tools, test approach (BDD/TDD)   

• Experienced in handling production releases/issues 

• Excellent communication skills, proactive and flexible to work on multiple projects. 

• Analytical and pragmatic approach to problem solving 

• Excellent Communication Skills 

• Experience working on Agile Scrum teams 

Nice to Have:

• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Typescript, Angular, and jQuery.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration.

• Experience with troubleshooting and monitoring tools (e.g., Grayling, Grafana, Cloudwatch).

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, Travis)

• Understanding of DevOps practices and principles.
