IBM SAP TM SME Consultant in Mumbai, India

Introduction

As a Package Consultant at IBM, get ready to tackle numerous mission-critical company directives. You will use a mix of consultative skills, business knowledge, and technical expertise to effectively integrate packaged technology into our clients' business environment and achieve business results.

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced SAP TM (Transportation Management) Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of transportation management processes and extensive experience with SAP TM module implementation and support. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to optimize and streamline transportation operations through SAP TM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation & Configuration:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation and configuration of the SAP TM module.

  • Customize SAP TM to meet business-specific transportation needs, including freight planning, execution, and settlement.

  • Ensure seamless integration of SAP TM with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP EWM) and external systems.

  • Business Process Analysis:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document transportation management requirements.

  • Analyze current transportation processes and identify areas for improvement using SAP TM.

  • Develop functional specifications and design solutions that align with business goals.

  • System Support & Maintenance:

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the SAP TM module.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transportation management processes.

  • Conduct system performance assessments and implement necessary enhancements or updates.

  • Training & Documentation:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users and key stakeholders on SAP TM functionalities.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, process flows, and user manuals.

  • Project Management:

  • Manage and participate in project planning, ensuring the timely delivery of SAP TM solutions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, IT, and external vendors, to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in SAP TM and related technologies.

  • Recommend and implement best practices to enhance transportation management processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize costs and increase operational efficiency.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP TM implementation and support.

  • Strong knowledge of transportation management processes, including freight planning, carrier selection, load optimization, and settlement.

  • Proven experience in configuring and customizing SAP TM solutions.

  • Experience in integrating SAP TM with other SAP modules and third-party systems.

  • Skills:

  • Deep understanding of SAP TM architecture, functionalities, and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Project management skills and SAP certification in TM are highly desirable.
