Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for a Power transmission project in the state of Gujarat, India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region and the project sites in India, as well as few key contractor locations across India.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will report to the Project Controls Manager and interface with EPC Contractors, customer and project team members. Lead the progress reporting efforts to fulfill the contractual obligations. You will establish stakeholder relationships, collect data, analyze and present thru various reports. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Under more senior management, displays leadership in the administration of Project Controls activities such as input for weekly project action items list, maintains database, prepares monthly/ weekly progress reports and Look ahead reports.

  • Coordinates with EPC Contractors to get data in the in the form, format, content, and level of detail as required by Bechtel to meet contractual obligations.

  • Implements project reporting requirements in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.

  • Works with other supervisors and management team members to support PC and projects operations.

  • Coordinates routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects.

  • Obtains required schedule information by all disciplines/functions.

  • Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.

  • Monitors and reports critical path and schedule performance of the total project.

  • Collects and analyzes alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.

  • Assists, when requested, in the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans.

  • Coordinates cost recording, monitoring, & reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards.

  • Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports.

  • Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.

  • Works with more senior managers in managing PERM performance requirements, metrics, and reporting standards incl. suggestions related to risk breakdown structures, risk libraries, & risk identification tools & frameworks in support of project needs.

  • Coordinates and participates project risk reviews.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly skilled in oral and written communication.

  • Experience of working as PMC or consultant on EPC projects of similar nature OR working with PMC in the role of EPC contractor in large EPC projects is preferred.

  • Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications (Microsoft Office Applications for example).
