Google Program Manager, Capacity Planning in Mumbai, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in program management on cross-functional software development projects.

  • Experience with PLX, PowerBI, Data Studio or other data presentation applications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to use project management techniques to drive physical or development tasks to completion.

  • Ability to dive into a complex data set, find the hidden truth, and turn it into a plan of action.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to analyze logistics challenges and develop effective solutions.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers and software infrastructure. As part of GCP capacity infrastructure planning team, you will have the opportunity to grow Google Cloud business by continuously optimize Google Cloud demand planning strategy and guide long-term strategic infrastructure investment via innovative and systemic process improvement, functional interlock, and automation.

  • Develop, document and execute processes to support Data Center power capacity management on a global basis.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop regional power capacity health plans to manage regional power constraints and drive action plans to bring constrained regions back to health.

  • Create analytical models to plan future capacity needs and evaluate capacity risks and actions to be remediate capacity constraints.

  • Work with partner teams to launch, drive and deliver complex projects requiring extensive cross-functional interactions.

  • Manage multiple interdependent projects of high complexity and scope. Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals and build consensus.
