Purpose and Scope:

As a Platform Engineer of a team of individuals in a specific area of digital expertise, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution are about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, focus on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

A Platform Release Engineer owns the end-to-end deployment of configuration/code operations for one or more systems, following a release calendar, and proper management of the various environments. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the DevOps tools and processes that are suitable for each platform, such as Salesforce and Veeva Vault. The goal is to ensure these platforms are optimized to support business goals, enhance efficiency, and drive growth. You will be at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in your field.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Use suitable DevOps tools to centrally manage environment provisioning, release management and automate config/code promotion and deployment for Veeva Vault, Veeva CRM and multiple Salesforce applications.

  • Responsible for all environment provisioning e.g., sandboxes and regional child Salesforce Orgs.

  • Work closely with the developers to ensure that their configuration/code follows the configuration best practice, to ensure the configuration is fit to deploy.

  • Owns defining the release calendar for the various systems, and aligning the

  • Align environment refreshes with the global release calendar for each system.

  • Ensure all deliveries and deployments are aligned to the release calendar.

  • Limit the number of time consuming manual pre- and post-deployment activities.

  • Limit the number of deployment errors.

  • Maintain safe code isolation and merge process between parallel development streams.

  • Security: Implement security best practices in all aspects of the deployment processes.

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure using tools like AutoRabit, Flosum, Change Sets and Visual Studio.

  • Troubleshooting and Documentation: Identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance of applications. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure, processes, and policies.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Develop, maintain, and optimize Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure fast and reliable software releases.

  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems (e.g., integrating Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault Promomats/MedComms) to enhance data flow and business processes.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor the performance of DevOps processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.

  • Initiative Execution: Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.

  • Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise.

  • Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance outcomes and digital capabilities. Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce the potential for human error.

  • Reporting: Regularly report on the performance of the DevOps processes to your Va.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.

Qualifications :

Required

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and /or Developer

  • Veeva Vault Platform Certified Administrator

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting DevOps operations for Salesforce and Veeva Vault at a life science company.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Change Sets to deploy Salesforce code and configuration.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience using AutoRabit tool.

  • Experience in Salesforce and/or Veeva Vault configuration.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of Life Sciences/ Pharma industry across Commercial, Manufacturing and Medical domains.

  • Cross-Cultural Experience: Work experience across multiple cultures and regions, facilitating effective collaboration in diverse environments.

  • Innovation and Creativity: Ability to think innovatively and propose creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Preferred

  • Veeva CRM Certified Administrator

  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc analyses, identify performance gaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
