Citigroup Finance Acctg Lead Analyst - C13 - MUMBAI in Mumbai, India

The Finance Acctg Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the data flows, analysis, reviews, quality and generation of key reports used in the software capitalization processes i.e. monthly capitalization credits, amortization and billings. Work closely with Software Controllers, FP&A, Technology and Charge-Outs teams.

  • Manage & lead the Software processes globally for Purchased Software and non-technology organizations.

  • Manage & lead the Software processes & controls over the Statement of Cash Flows and other SEC reporting requirements and changes

  • Risk & Control lead for Software Controllers including process & controls documentation, standardization and improvements across NAM and Mumbai teams. This role should also ensure compliance with ongoing changes to Citi’s control and SOX requirements, including liaising with the CIO and ETR teams for the same requirements.

  • Coordinate and lead responses for all audit or risk & control requests (internal/external/compliance).

  • Data Compliance co-lead for all of Corporate Functions Controllers.

  • Leads, directs and manages a team of professionals.

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of Controllership/ Accounting experience; Software accounting background preferred.

  • Candidate should have strong technical and data analytical skills using Microsoft Access and Excel.

  • Ability to work with and organize a large amount of data. Knowledge and experience in Knime (or other BI tools) and big databases a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience with Project/ Time Tracking System, Renault, CSI/application inventory systems, Procure to Pay, IFW, Pearl, APS/Charge-Outs process is a plus.

  • Knowledge of technology systems/applications & project management terms

  • Key competencies will include a mix of excellent analytical and problem solving skills, good business judgment and attention to quality and detail.

  • Candidate should have good project management skills, be a self-starter who is able to work independently and be flexible enough to handle multiple tasks.

  • Relationship skills and experience partnering with multiple businesses as well as the ability to influence and team with colleagues at all levels are necessary.

  • Ability to work with global teams (NAM/EMEA/APAC/LATAM).

  • Working hours are from 1pm to 10pm.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree/Chartered Accountant preferred

This position will provide financial analysis, management reporting and support data flows within the Operations & Technology Software Controllers. This role will a) lead execution of Software Capitalization guidelines across multiple segments; b) be the subject matter expert for all aspects of the cap process, including developing software cap analytics, building reports from PTS system, analyzing end-to-end data inputs & outputs used within the capitalization process (i.e. ARMS, Renault), perform monthly reviews on process controls, ensure integrity of financial data used for journal entries and management analysis; c) Be the Global Controller support for O&T organizations doing software development work including SMB Tech, GFT, USPB/Wealth Tech and be the global lead for Purchased Software process ($300MM NBV); c) lead the Risk & Control process for overall Software Cap function ($14Billion Assets), including MCA monitoring, liaising with Controller’s Risk & Control team on various matters and ensuring all financial & regulatory requirements are met; d) Build reporting capability, including development of financial dashboard, in order to provide superior insights to senior management on complex metrics, that will drive decision making. Additional responsibilities include leading process and control standardization and improvement projects, especially leveraging their data and reporting skillsets. This role will work closely with various segment & cluster Controllers, Technology Leads across LOBs, and O&T CFO team as well as Financial Planning and Analysis counterparts.

In addition to the Software capitalization responsibilities, this role will also be the Data Governance & Compliance lead for the entire Corporate Functions Controllers.
