Oracle Senior Devops Engineer in MUMBAI, India

Job Description

A DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems and processes that enable rapid and reliable software delivery. They collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of code changes, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and overall system stability.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts, pipelines, and tools to automate deployment, provisioning, and infrastructure management.

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure the rapid and reliable delivery of software updates.

  • Configuration Management: Manage and maintain configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible to ensure consistent server configurations.

  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up and maintain monitoring and logging systems to proactively identify and address issues in production environments.

  • Security: Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices, such as access control, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.

  • Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration between development and operations teams to foster a DevOps culture.

  • Release Management: Plan and coordinate software releases, ensuring minimal downtime and rollback strategies in case of issues.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby).

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).

  • Expertise in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

  • Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Splunk).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is a plus

  • Having experience in scripting using BASH, python & Ruby
