The CE&S (Customer Experience & Success) Business Intelligence team is chartered with delivering strategic & operational insights to a variety of key business stakeholders, including the CE&S Leadership, CE&S Delivery Managers, and cross-Microsoft stakeholders requiring support data insights. We are chartered with two critical, strategic objectives: simplify the data & insights stream for CE&S leaders and enable business transformation with an intense focus on creating & delivering customer centric insights. Our goal is to foster an insights-driven culture and enable the entire organization to make data-driven decisions. To achieve this, we are transforming our data platform capabilities and creating one logical repository & standard taxonomy for all our CE&S data.
The Senior Technical Program Manager - Data Platform is a critical role that embodies Microsoft’s leadership principles of clarity, energy, and impact. In this role, you will utilize your TPM superpowers to partner closely with stakeholders in our CE&S organization, understand their business needs & scenarios, and translate these into technical specifications & capability requirements. You will deliver clarity, prioritization, and high-quality deliverables to both your business & engineering stakeholders. You are a self-starter, driven to simplify the complex and willing to be an evangelist of our vision for harnessing data to continuously improve the experiences of our customers.
This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Responsibilities
Drive the strategic direction and feature roadmap of the business and ensure alignment with the data platform strategy.
Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to design technical solutions. Identify risks and propose data-driven mitigations.
Define success criteria for complex cross-functional deliverables.
Drive continuous improvements in the program and initiatives.
Ensure that the deliverables meet data security & compliance requirements.
Ensure platform process, technical and training documentation is complete.
Engage with data source team leads to gain tactical and strategic understanding of data sources required by CE&S.
Publish and manage the sprint requirements for the data platform.
Work closely with other CE&S BI TPMs, Platform and Insight leads, as well as key stakeholders, to facilitate and coordinate the data platform backlog grooming process, triaging new feature requests in preparation for the next sprint.
Drive and facilitate testing, UAT, and ad hoc reviews as needed.
Be a Voice of the Customer to share insights and best practices, and connect with the Engineering team to remove key blockers.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, technical program management, data analysis
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
3+ years of experience in working with large-scale cloud data processing and storage using Azure Data Lake and Data Services, Databricks, Azure DevOps, SQL, Synapseand Power BI.
Ability to manage ambiguity in an evolving and dynamic environment and the ability to challenge customer requirements and drive good trade off decisions based on business needs and technical constraints.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering AND 8+ years of experience in engineering, technical program management, data analysis
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience in managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
3+ years of experience in Data Platform Solutions. Hands-on experience with MS Fabric is strongly desired.
Expertise in working with Agile/DevOps environment.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of different audiences and strong presentation skills.
Ability to lead, influence and motivate technical communities as well as effectively recognize and adapt to change.
1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., SQL, Azure Notebook, Store procedures, sample documentation).
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
